About Me
I have been a leader in higher education and professional development since 2002. Over the past two decades, I have held numerous coaching and mentoring roles, served as faculty at prominent public and private institutions, and participated in graduate, medical, and residency admissions as an interviewer and committee member. I have also served on search and selection committees for senior leadership positions across academic institutions, corporations, and international nonprofit organizations.
In addition to my over 20 years of academic success and contributions, I have held strategic leadership roles where I have advised early and mid-career professionals both in the U.S. and internationally. Through Shannon Academic Coaching and Consulting (SACC), I empower individuals to articulate their stories and leverage their experiences to achieve their career goals.
Why Work With Me
As a very busy professional, strategic leader, and single mother of a beautiful 9-year-old daughter, I understand the value of time and the need to be as effective as possible. That’s why I started Shannon Academic Coaching and Consulting. I have worked with many individuals who have a desire to achieve more, but just didn’t know where to start or how to get there.
I also find that many of the individuals I work with haven’t fully recognized the value of their experiences or the talents they bring to the table. Individuals who work with me walk away with a roadmap that leads to educational and professional goal attainment. I am passionate about helping others find their success and am honored when I can be a part of their journey.
It is an honor to be a part of someone’s process and an amazing feeling to watch that individual find their voice and confidence to showcase the skills, talents, and experiences they have spent a lifetime cultivating.
